Prerequisites and Equipment

Aquarium Photography Techniques

The class will cover photography equipment in the first couple of weeks, so if you are considering buying new camera gear, you might want to wait until after we've discussed it in class so you have more information about what's potentially useful... or not.


Prerequisites

·   Fundamental knowledge of basic photography

·   Fundamental knowledge of computers & file management

·   A basic knowledge of working with digital photos on your computer

·   Thorough knowledge of the operation of your camera (familiarity with all buttons & modes)

 

Required Equipment

·   Camera and lens (Digital SLR is recommended but any type of camera will work for most of the course)

·   Computer - w/high-speed internet connection

·   Means of getting your photo files onto your computer

·   Digital imaging software (PhotoShop Elements recommended)

 

Recommended Equipment

·   Tripod (with a 3-way or ball & socket head)

·   Electronic flash unit (highly recommended)(more than one recommended)

·   Flash sync cord (or wireless camera / flash set-up)

·    Macro lens
